Free Web Images Unleash Halloween Creativity for Bloggers

As Halloween gets closer, not only do people become more aware of things that go bump in the night, but many also like to decorate everything that doesn’t move. For some of these people, that means smoke machines, life-sized headstones, piped-in scary music and mechanical figures that jump out when you walk by. For people like me who live much of their lives online, though, decorations for Halloween take other forms entirely. That’s because we decorate our online worlds with downloadable art, like halloween images. This electronic art allows us to festoon word processing documents, Web sites, blogs, PowerPoint presentations and much more, which makes our work and play on the Internet that much more fun.

For scrapbookers, there are even more fun uses for images that can be found on the Internet. There are many sites that offer terrific collections of Halloween bats scrapbooking paper and free Halloween clipart that are so helpful for scrapbooking. Free images like this help people be creative without spending a fortune on images. That’s actually good for all of us, because beauty and creativity enhance the world in general.

I love seeing all the other projects people make with free Halloween images found on the Internet too. I’ve seen some really delightful altered art that combine re-purposed materials and new images. These particular projects were made of used vintage childrens books about Halloween that were deconstructed and reconstructed, adding blank pages, embellishments, such as rhinestones and beads, and new images that turned them into journals. I have also seen Halloween jewelry that has clip art encased or shellacked within it. What a great use of free resources! Those free images are a big help for people who make handmade jewelry, because they usually make so little profit. Free materials obviously allow them to optimize their resources.

If you take a moment to look online for Halloween crafts people make themselves, I bet you’ll find a lot more examples than I’ve given. I imagine they’re too numerous to count!
